We haven't had any real snow yet, this is from last year. I say if it has to be so cold outside, at least it could be pretty. Bring on the snow!!

Two baby boys were born this week, to families that we know and love.

It made me think about our baby boy, who will turn eight this spring. He has completed this family in so many unimaginable ways. I'm so happy for their families, who now have their baby boys to do just the same.

Watching the temp gauge in your car drop and drop on the way to work can be a bit disheartening. Pretty sure that's what makes a Nebraskan so tough.

Good ol' Mollie is twelve years old. She still jogs around like a puppy and sniffs for food like she's never full...how lucky we've been to know her almost her whole life and nearly our entire marriage.

There are days, like yesterday, like today, that feel quite repetitive. Up at 6, off to school around 7:30, back home around 4. Dinner. Bedtime...

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

We head to Arizona in March. Trips to different places give me something to look forward to, which I need as I also find joy in each day...

He joined his sister for piano lessons today. His very first lesson. They'll go in together every week, building childhood memories together.

The festive glow of the holiday season fades quickly for me. January and February are always my least favorite months. 

My goal is to stay positive and light, even on these dark winter days.

Pausing regularly scheduled programming for an annual exam. It's one if those things that always makes me feel like maybe I really am an adult. That, and pulling the trash to the curb on Wednesdays. Oil changes. Mortgage payments.

I was thinking today about my good fortune. I spend my days in a building meant entirely for learning. I get to do my small part, surrounded with an abundance of materials to help me help them learn.
