Things have been hectic this year, at school and at home. I'm doing my best right now to make sure that plans being made are in line with our family's goal of making each day great. We've got seven weeks left to make sure that this was our best school year yet!

We landed in Nebraska on Thursday to SNOW. I'm usually ready to come home after a vacation, but this made it a bit harder to be glad to be home! I missed that SUNSHINE. Bring on the warmth of summer, I'm ready to say goodbye to winter (and apparently wouldn't mind skipping spring!).

A trip to the races was a really fun way to spend an afternoon!

Flying home today for a lazy afternoon. A 3:30 a.m. wake up call certainly justifies our planned movie binge.

Phoenix Zoo. Day four was a blast!

Suddenly he's picturing himself on a golf car, spending his retirement here. And so it begins.

The air here smells so sweet. It's fragrant and fresh and exactly what I needed!

A little tradition. A glass of ginger ale on ice while flying through the air. I rarely drink it anywhere else. I suppose you could say it's become a bit of a superstition. 

Today B ordered one too, remembering my habit. It was a wonderful way to toast this fantastic, blessed life.

Today I went for spinal x-rays. I'd rather pretend all is well and that I don't have scoliosis.

Today I got over it and took a step forward toward health.

Not fun. But necessary.

I read a suggestion for a Lenten season activity. Go outside everyday and NOTICE SOMETHING. I love this. This is my new goal.

She sang in a trio, had a few lines, a couple of costume changes...it was her final elementary music program. Buddy's was tonight too. It was all so fantastic.

Regarding Bee: we are starting to have a lot of "last times". She'll be done with elementary on May 21. Moving on to middle school. Of course we are excited, but we also need to shed a tear [or two] for these beautiful lasts.

We've spent several weekends this winter watching Bee play basketball. Today is Buddy's day, he's having a blast!

Good old Mollie. She'll be thirteen this year. Some friends got bad news about their family dog this week and it makes me appreciate good old Mollie. 

She's been our loyal friend for twelve years!

We're craving spring around here. It was below zero all weekend.

What I need is some green grass, pastel color, daffodils and a jaunty plaid sport coat ~ I NEED spring!

A gloomy winter drive to Omaha to meet our new nephew and do a little shopping. It seems like a trip to the "big city" now. I do believe we are becoming small town folks!
