Apparently, turning 30 has killed the writer in me.

Kidding.

What has killed my will to write (besides this whiny Monday morning post...written while waiting for much needed coffee to brew) was the 7 students I had last week who found themselves in the principals' office. Five of whom who got themselves suspended. One of whom made big, big threats. The kind that other kids made good on around the country, with guns and grenades stored in their bedrooms.

I wrote two IEPs, one MDT, and filled out ten behavior checklists for kids who were going to see psychiatrists.

I ended the week with a smile.

I was relieved it was over.

Then I spent an overnight at a nearby hotel/casino with 15 girlfriends, half who will be turning 30 in the next year (a few of us already have). That was fun, but exhausting.

I've had 9 hours sleep in the past three days.

It's Monday.

I hope you have a great week.

The overnight trip sounds wonderful--but exhausting!

I hope your week is better...

Does the weather change make the kids in your school crazed too? We always had more fights and insanity when the weather was changing (or a full moon.)

Feeling your pain (on a break after 3 years in sped)

Oh, Mel, I remember how exhausting it was to have fun when my children were small. But it was worth every second. I'd come home to a big mess of a house (which I left spotless), the children would wake 1/2 through the night because Daddy forgot to take them potty or something and I always stayed out until midnight so I was tired. Going out made me feel like "one of the girls" again and at times I resented what I came home to but then I thought- I deserve a night out and I will continue to be a friend! You and your kids can go to bed early every night this week. (I've heard it helps us do better in school.)Glad you had fun!!! Shafer's know how to have a good time- so do VanBoenings.

oh my gosh, only 9 hrs of sleep in the last 3 days? I don't know how you're surviving it! After that week at school sounds like you needed that getaway with all those friends - what fun! Sorry about your students getting suspended; hope this week is more calm!

This is a tad late, but I hope this week has been much less stressful.

Oh man - what a week.... Glad you got to get away with friends - that sounds sooo much more fun than IEP's and Behavior plans ;)

Hoping the rest of the week went more smoothly!!!
