Grains of Gratitude

This week I am grateful for:
  • I had a great birthday. Hubs got me a digital picture frame, which will be so fun to have at work! I also received cards and phone calls from people who mean so much to me.

  • My parents came to town yesterday and stayed with the kids while Hubs and I went out. He had the homecoming dance at his school to supervise, so we had a lunch date. We went to Dave & Buster's. Ever heard of it? It's like Chuck E Cheese for adults. We had lunch and drinks and then played. I beat hubby at air hockey and video car racing. That was fun! We also played Skee Ball, basketball, and those horse races where you roll the ball. It was fun to act like kids again and spend some quality time together.

  • Our new chair. We went to a clearance sale at a local furniture mart after our lunch date and ended up with a huge chair and ottoman.

  • I'm so glad our new carpet is getting installed this Thursday! On Sunday, I think a few friends are going to stop through, so it will be nice to have our tile/carpet project finished.

Today is a day of rest. We're seeing my parents off and then taking a day off. I'm picturing lots of new chair time. Maybe some chips and salsa.

Some much needed R&R.

Happy Birthday.

That's a great looking chair. And a cute puppy too. OmegaMan wants to know if his/her breed? Is he/she full grown?

So I posted a comment about your comment at Beck's, but back at my place. Did that make any sense?

The dog is 1/2 miniature pincer (the little mini doberman looking dogs with cropped ears and tails? That weigh about 7 lbs). Her mother was a pure-bred that got raped in her own backyard. No pun intended, that would be a little crude actually. I literally mean in the back yard. Anyway, the male must have been more than twice her size because the litter of puppies eare these adorable mutts that are about 22 lbs, no cropped ears or tails, and yes - she's full grown. She still likes to chew things up, piss on my carpet, and get up on the dining room table. So there is something a little screwy with her behavioral wiring. But hey, she's our pooch.

Pynchon and I used to go on dates to Playdium -- don't know if you have it, but it's basically a giant videogame arcade with air hockey tables and silly amusements like those football throwing games. Hilarious. And good exercise ;-)
