Worries

But Mommy! I don't know how to spell "Dear"...or "Santa"...pause...or "give"...or "me...

You can see where this is going.

Tell her that it's ok for kids to draw pictures of what they want. Then she can tell you what each picture is of and you can write under each picture!!

My little non-readers also like to cut pictures out of catalogs, too.

I'm with Beck. I dang near dog-eared the entire Sears catalog toy section one year.

My mom would also make us write thankyou letters to Santa. It was torture at the time - but I'm gonna do it to my own kids. HAHAHAHA!

Cutting out pictures is incredibly fun! Also, virtual shopping on the computer--cut and past the little images onto a Word document and print it out!

Teaching them write is overrated. I have dozens (no joke) of papers all over with lists and letters for Santa. Which are mostly filled with items from the Sears catalogue and Toys R Us flyer she has kept.

Seriously, though, this year the excitement level is HIGH.

I also make them write a proper letter asking Santa how he is doing and thanking him as well. It is the least we can do.

Santa is magic, he can even read scribbles.

But somehow, he missed my scribbling on last years letter regarding "year long supply of margarita's for mom".

I just glimpsed my future. And it was scary.

Ha ha ha! This the funniest single sentence I've read in a long time.

Well, she's a planner, right? Do you think you could teach her to write by Xmas? Or will you serve as amanuensis? :-)
