Me too!!! It was the most beautiful story, but also one that made you know how many children are dealing with their parents not being with them for many reasons. Hang onto your family, as I know you do! hugs, di
Good for Burke! I saw the article in today's paper after reading and commenting and I thought they did a good job with the article and clearly Burke did a good job with the football. :)
i think we fail too often to acknowledge the human toll of the decisions being made, and that article reminded me of that again. thank you for sharing that.
What a dad! He didn't over play anything just wished his son and the team "Good Luck". How humble. I can't stand to have my child away on a cruise. How would I handle a family member in Iraq. War is dumb!
I definitely shed a few tears reading that! I was going to ask if they won but then saw your comment above...they didn't just win, they blew them out! How awsome the game ball is going over to his dad, along with tapes of all the games too.
I'm trying not to think that we'll be going through this next year.

It gave me goosebumps! I currently have a brother serving in Iraq and he's coming home soon. :)
The only question I have: Did they win the game? I don't know if I just didn't read it well enough or the reporter didn't put it in.
Yes! Burke won, 59-14.
How cool to think of that game ball being sent away to a proud dad. Now I'm crying again. Sniff.
**sniff sniff**
I am such a sap for these things. Thank you for sharing this!!! What an awesome story. Really. Awesome.
Gotta get some tissue.
Fabulous Father. Brilliant boy. Fearless family.
Best wishes

My plan- rock, paper, scissors. 5 out of 7 wins or gets their choice over whatever the dispute is about.
Beautiful story, I'm glad I stopped by your blog tonight, it'll inspire me to move into tomorrow with a open and much more content heart!
Thank you for that.
