Weekend Bits

March did not bring the inspiration for spring cleaning, as I had hoped.
My home is still in need of much TLC.
Org Junkie shared this great link about throwing out stuff, it's a fun read!

I haven't decided if this weekend is it or not. I'm a cyclical cleaner and must be in the mood to deep clean the house. It's sort of a manic thing, I must be very, very up to get into that mode. I'm still on my first cup of coffee, so not sure yet whether it's in me today or not. Do you do spring cleaning? Or are you one of those crazy clean-all-the-time people? Something about the change of weather usually inspires me to do a little extra in spring and again in the fall. It works for me.

We've got swimming lessons this morning and a high school musical tonight. Seriously, a high school musical. The Hubs has to supervise at his school and asked if I want to join him. It was quite sweet of him, actually, since he knows how much I love musical theater (and how little I actually get to imbibe). I'm just not sure about the show, since I've never seen it before. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat? Ever seen it? Should I skip it? Anyway, it's a "date" if nothing else, and the Hubs and I rarely venture out alone. The 15-minute car ride will be a treat, being able to talked uninterrupted.

Go! Go! Go! It is a great play. I've seen it big, middle sized and small. Enjoy! "Mr. Dostal's wife."

I haven't seen the show myself, but have heard it's a must see. Go and let us other theatre junkies know how it is!!

I too am a seasonal cleaner. I have done a few things this week since it was nice those first few days and the kids were able to go outside while I cleaned windows and moved furniture to clean behind and under it, etc. My room is actually clean! I know you can appreciate that!

Hope you have fun at the play! Again, let us know how it is! I am jealous as I sit here doing nothing AGAIN!

Have fun!
A friend told me something that I found really powerful - you don't wait until you feel like cleaning your house to clean your house. It's been nearly revolutionary for me.

When I do my daily/weekly/monthly cleaning stuff, I definitely don't always feel like it! But when it comes to the seasonal stuff, the bigger tasks, it just sort of requires that mood. For me.
Ya know?

Oh - and I WAS on hiatus! Three weeks felt good enough...I wanted to come back, so I did!

You are going to love Joseph! I have seen it in many forms including in a real theatre with Donny Osmond - my nephew was in the children's choir part. It such a great story and I find in local theatre they can make it pretty funny too.

Enjoy your night out.

Hey! Know what I'm doing RIGHT NOW? Uploading all my CDs to my iTunes so that we can sell the CDs and get that huge source of clutter out of our lives before we move.

I followed all your links. I'm hooked ...

OM I was an odd bird ("Tacky", a children's story) and had immaculate drawers and closets, ironed all-l-l my kids clothes but underwear and socks, never sent my children out of the house without a bath/shower and had homemade nutritious meals on the table 24/7/365. BUT I had a messy kitchen counter 12/6/200. I just dropped everything that wasn't in its place there on the counter and thought I'd get to it after breakfast, after lunch, after the kids' naps, after supper, after the kids went to bed. Didn't happen so I woke the next morning with the same agenda. I don't understand why I did that but I did. I also hired a young neighbor to come while I did my spring and fall house keeping. She played with the kids and I got things done because I was PAYING for her time. I quit doing that when I was working on my masters degree. I regret that day but something had to give- 4 children, active church life, Girl Scout leader, wife, help farming, driving to Lincoln 2-3 days per week and working 50-70%. So now 15 years later I still have messes to clean up (since then we've moved children about 40 times and each time collected boxes PLUS moved both moms out of their homes and collected from those moves). Life goes on and it doesn't really matter but it does make me "nuts", really "nuts". And it makes me gain weight.........and other unhealthy things. My summer goal is- purge!

Hey now! I cleaned my stuff out of the house Mama! And you only had to house my wedding presents, and dress, and decorations for about a year right? ; )
I took a weekend to get all the cobwebs out of my corners OM when Jeff and Alaina went back to visit his parents. I also like to pick a room a week to deep clean by going through the cupboards and boxes and otehr hidden spaces. Hope you enjoy J and the ATD! I think it was the first big musical I saw. The Nebraska Theater Caravan put it on in Hastings years ago.

Hope the play was good. I do try to keep my kitchen and my floors clean. And I can't stand walking into a room and hitting my foot on things...so Yeah, I pretty much clean all the time!

You are killing me with the suspense. did you love "any dream will do" as much as I did? It's my fave song from the musical.

I hope you and hubby enjoyed your "date"!

Did you like J&TTDC? I like the songs, but I've issues with the story. Because Joesph doesn't exactly learn anything, does he? It is the oddest bible story: Joseph remains a smug asshole right to the very end. I kept waiting for him to be humbled, as with most bible stories.
