Cooler Times

It was pushing 90 degrees for weeks on end. The kids happily wearing shorts and tshirts to school, me happily dressing them without much thought. Suddenly, it's not even hitting 70. And it's September! Fall approaches and it's time to put another year's worth of summer shorts away. I'm a little sad this year, for some reason. I usually make the switch without a second thought. This year, I guess I wasn't quite ready.

I'm not quite ready.

I need to make the switch for myself too. From sandals to shoes. From capris to pants.

It's my favorite time of year, I guess it just snuck up on me this year. And now I need to go shopping!

For the first time since last spring I wore jeans and socks and shoes today. I know exactly how you feel, putting the clothes away always makes me a bit sad and crazy. The great thing is some of it comes around again when Rosebud gets to wear them.

I really do hate the change-over though, it just always feels like a lot of work!

Lots of days this summer it barely hit 20 Celsius here. Then we had several week long heatwaves with temperatures above 30. Feast or famine.

And fall is my favourite time of the year. I love sweaters.

I'm with you OM. I was enjoying dressing Alaina in her cute summer skirts and tops but alas . . now the struggle to get her tired arms into long skinny sleeves begins again.

I couldn't touch my preschoolers for most of the day because my hands and feet were so cold. And it's 9/8. It may be a long fall. (I should be thankful because our school it not AC'd.)

It's been in the 80s here which I'm thankful for because that 90 degrees was just getting to be too much! I'll be happy when we can get down to the 70s!

Its been so chilly in our house with the weather flux . .. I wish it would just get cold enough to justify turning the heat on already!!! Wearing three sweaters and drinking gallons of hot tea isn't my idea of fun but Alaina and Jeff are walking around in tshirts because they are content in 64 degree weather. Ugh.

Shopping..... yes..... I have realized the last couple of days that I must suck it up and do the same. I REALLY don't like shopping for kids' clothes anymore. When they were babies, it was so easy. Everything fit. Now.... not so much. They fit in the waist but are a foot too long, or they are just the right length and the waist is either huge or way too tight. Why can't they just make a line of clothes called "The Addison" or "The Brenna"?!?!?

I live in the same area as you, across the river though. It's perfect cross country weather! :)
