A quick trip to the grocery store, for our pumpkins to carve.
A long task of getting each precious seed from the ooey-gooey, as my children fondly referred to it.
B's design was ridiculously complicated, including spectacles for her jack-o-lantern. Her father obliged, being wrapped around her little finger as he is.
The Grand Finale. Yummmm!

That looks like fun. *sigh* Utterly unlike our own carving parties which last as long as it takes for me to cut out the jack-o-lantern lid at which point the kids desert me complaining about the pumpkin smell. They're so dainty.
we did this last year and man, was it a heck of a lot of work...am kind of scared to take that on again. but then i read this and think i need to force myself!
My family rarely carves pumpkins... there's not much point for us to do it this year since we won't be home on Halloween.
It is a tradition for us too...I guess we had better do our this weekend!
We are doing ours this coming weekend...I'm with you, I love carving pumpkins. I don't think we've done the seeds before with the kids, though. They would probably love it!
Oh, I LOVE roasted seeds! We won't carve ours until later because around these parts it can get quite warm again, resulting in rotten pumpkins--blech.
The pumpkins will probably rot, they did last year. It's getting quite cool at night, but still getting into the 60's during the day. We had 'em good and rotten by the end of Oct last year!
We wait until one or two days before Halloween to carve our pumpkins... but it looks like you guys had SO much fun!
I love pumpkin seeds. Pynchon is the major pumpkin carver around here. Also, B is looking CRAZILY like you.
And that is the end of my nonsequiturs for today.
Hey, why don't you include pictures of your kids instead of those two kids I don't recognize- are they neighborhood children? Your two little toddlers are so cute include them in some of your blogs. OMG(osh)! Time marches on...too fast.
Finally got around to dropping by your site, after having read your comments to Mary, aliki, Beck, etc., for some time.
Nice site. Nice person. Nice matters.
Being articulate and insightful doesn't hurt either.
I know, nothing to do with pumpkins.
We did the big pumpkin patch train ride this year with our 4 year old son. very cool
Looks like you had a great time as well.
Aren't digital cameras great for all those times you'll be glad you got images of?1
