His First Joke

In the car this afternoon.

Little Man: I have a joke for you.

Me: Okay, go.

Little Man: Knock knock.

Me: Who's there?

Little Man: Grass who.

Me: Grass?

Little Man: No! You say grass who!

Me: Oh, okay. Grass who?

Little Man: Grass...in a box. In a house. Heh heh heh.

Little Man: Grass in the house that the rabbit snacked on and then went into the park and took the box and the rabbit runned away and then the grass was all gone....hahahahahahahahaha.

Three years old for four whole days and you are suddenly a comedian. Telling stream-of-consciousness-jokes worthy of a preschooler.

Mama loves ya.

Ah, that brings back memories! My four year olds were on such a knock-knock joke about a year ago. It has calmed down a bit...and my oldest is now telling real jokes from school. And he even remembers the whole joke - which is a big improvement over the first few years of joke telling. Oh, well, at least so far he hasn't told any "jokes" that got him in trouble.

That's an excellent joke! Preschool humour: clearly, it's a preschooler thing. Munchkin (who will be three in june) likes to just randomly laugh, and then tell everyone to laugh with her, because "IT'S SO FUNNY!"

Miss has been obsessed with knock knock jokes lately. I am still waiting for her to figure out funny.

I can just see his "joke face". I just want to laugh out loud when they do that- laugh with their whole body and look at you to share the hilarity. I do.........
