I had him sit with me while we ate some lunch. Leftover sloppy joes and mac n cheese.
I saw it coming, though I wasn't sure of the reason.
His face got a little sad.
"I'm full of this macaroni now. I need some apple bread."
I encourage him to have a bite, he loves mac n cheese (it's even kraft, from a box, his favorite kind).
"No. I'm full of this macaroni!" Now he's near tears and running from the table.
I ask him come back to the table and sit with me. Buddy, it's your favorite lunch, just eat a few bites.
He yells from across the room, "BUT WHAT IS THAT GREEN STUFF??!?"
Oh, damn my love of basil. I screwed up the macaroni by trying to add flavor!
Lesson learned. Once again.

Green stuff! IT IS POISON. Or at least according to my kids.
Personally, I think basil in KD sounds kinda interesting.
Just the dried stuff...and not even that much. I really like basil!!
I thought you were going to say he got sick.... can you tell the stomach flu is going around here? We have 6 out of 10 children sick yesterday. I've got my fingers crossed and I'm taking showers right after school to try to avoid the "crud". Glad is was just basil. M-m-m-m I love basil.
I laughed and laughed at Catalog Living..... hahahahahahahaha!
Ack! Not the green!
We have that same problem here...I can't sneak any little spice in without someone at the table getting upset!
