The Puppet Master

Last night we went out to eat as a family before heading to get some groceries. We went out at actual supper time, not at our usual before-the-dinner-rush-dinner. It felt so fun to be in a restaurant with other people. It was bustling and our kids actually didn't ruin the fun with any major tantrums, etc. Of course they were both a huge mess, but that's okay.

So we're leaving the restaurant and I'm chatting with the Hubs. Our daughter has this nasty habit of busting in on our conversations, asking for details. I gently reminded her that it was between dad and me.

"Mom, you forget that I just need to know everything. And everybody, everybody (!), needs to obey what's in my head. . . except God. But everyone else needs to listen and obey everything that's in my head."

Got that?

Well, how could you argue with THAT face? And how does God say no?

Noble of her to make the exception for God, don't you think? I'm sure He appreciates it.

I had to laugh about the restaurant thing - we only recently started going out to dinner with Kyle at the regular time when other people go...not the 5:30 to avoid unruly kid waiting for table time. Of course the Nintendo DS tucked in my purse for just such waits has come in handy!

OM, I used to make your UD so upset because I cleaned up after our children at a restaurant. I begged for a Dustbuster and he's just laugh and say "That's what the waiters get paid for, I tip well!"

That sounds a lot like Papoosie Girl, she cannot keep a though to herself and must know yours too.
