Every Day

I learn something new. Usually more than just one thing.

Today is a biggie. For a dork like me.

Till. I think of it as a verb, as in till the soil.

When I have abbreviated until in the past, I have always said 'til. As in until, without the un. Oh, but I was wrong. I've always thought writers who put till as in until were mistaken. Didn't they know it was just an abbreviation?

So today I just had to look it up (again, dork). Till is a word!?! So I now know. Till is also a preposition.

Well, now I know.

For what it's worth.

This is very curious. What in the world prompted you looking up this word? Did your English degree hubby call you on it? Just wondering. :-) Jacque

Danielle Steele used it three times in the book I just read. It was driving me nuts. I honestly thought it should be 'til.

Things that make you go hmmm...

Yes, I know, Danielle Steel, HEAVY reading. Hey, it's summer, and I was in the mood for a chic flick-esque book.

Hey - you are talking to the queen of chic flick-esque book readers. Right now I don't want anything deep or serious. Go for it!

Sad how I thought the exact same thing you did. Every time I see it spelled the correct way, I blame the editors for not finding it and wonder how the dictionary on their spell checks isn't finding this one word EVERY TIME it's printed!! LOL!!! Guess I'm not as spell-savy as I like to think at times, huh??

Nicholas Sparks.... he is my chic flic-esque author...... LOVE HIM!!
