Feeding Time

I realize I let you guys eat all sorts of things for breakfast. I realize that we've had sugar-sweetened cereal, ritz with peanut butter, toast with cinnamon and sugar, any fruit that you want, granola bars, even cookies every now and then. I know that it's a strange place to draw my line in the sand, but do I have to say it every morning? NO POPSICLES FOR BREAKFAST!!!

Ha!

Since last week, Munchkin has been asking for birthday cake for breakfast every day. What kind of mother does she take me for??? :-)

We just make popsicles from juice and then they can have them for breakfast is they want. Mama's too tired to fight about it.

Make jigglers with fruit juice, too. I used the gelatin recipe- not Jello- and my kids thought they were getting away with something. Life is about the sweet stuff. They also went to the fridge and pulled leaves off a head of lettuce and ate it plain. It's all about balance, too! I think my kids were skin and bones because we didn't sit and watch tv or movies or video games. They did sit and read A LOT!! But otherwise move, move, move. If their bodies weren't moving their mouths were. I digress.................

Stick to your guns on those things. Then, when they get to college, they live it up by having all those things you withheld. Soda before lunch. pizza for breakfast. That late night snack....

It really is the little things.

We do the fruit juice thing, too--this way we can bypass the guilt and the arguing.
