We gathered together. We held hands and thanked God for the food we were about to eat. We dined on pork chops, scalloped potatoes, asparagus, with a dessert of warm peach cobbler and creamy vanilla ice cream. We enjoyed some time together.
No rush, no agenda.
These moments seem few and far between. I told hubs that I want to make sure we do it every Sunday night. A big meal around the table together. We had cleaned up the house all afternoon and then enjoyed that meal without clutter piled up around us.
I'm grateful for today. Living in the moment can be so fulfilling.

Sounds delicious! Much better than our meal of kielbasa (left over from the shrimp boil) and kraft dinner. Yuck! I did manage to slice up a cantelope and tomatoes so all was not lost nutritionally!
That sounds lovely!
We dropped half of our supper RIGHT on the floor right before it was time to eat. Great.
We had a nice meal tonight too! Steaks grilled to perfection, salad, garlic bread and baked potatoes. Of course the kids ate something else mostly, but still it was nice.
The girls and I eat together everyday, but it really is a treat to have all of us at the table together.
What a great outlook! and you're right - those moments can be so fulfilling, but sometimes often overlooked!
